Health Releaf offers Opioid Maintenance Treatments at our Glen Burnie and Edgewater Maryland offices. We currently provide Suboxone, Sublocade, and Vivitrol treatment options for our patients.
Sublocade is an innovative treatment for opioid addiction. Taken once a month, it provides a consistent, sustained, release of buprenorphine into the body, making certain your levels are always where they need to be, without having to take daily.
Sublocade is offered at Health Releaf as part of our opioid maintenance and treatment programs. Our treatment providers deliver your medication once a month (as a liquid) and it offers our patients a 30 day dose of medication, allowing you to stop worrying about taking medication every day. In addition, it keeps your levels of buprenorphine steady throughout the day, giving you a safe dose of medication for up to 30 days.
What to expect during your appointment?
New Patients: New patients will begin with our Induction phase. We’ll provide a daily transmucosal form of buphrenorphine (under the tongue) for at least 7 days to help control withdrawal symptoms.
Once you have finished the Induction portion of treatment, we’ll administer Sublocade in our Glen Burnie and Edgewater offices by our treatment providers. Because people with Opioid Use Disorder have a higher risk for opioid overdose, we’ll have an intake consultation to discuss the benefits, risks, and program that is right for you or your loved one.
Existing Patients: Will receive an injection, given just under the skin in your abdomen. A small bump under your skin at the injection site for several weeks is normal. The bump is called a depot, which releases medicine throughout the month. Over time, as medication is released into your body, the bump will get smaller.
